Summer Heights High - Mr. G’s Drama Room (Behind The Scenes) (by ChrisLilleyFan101)
the best part is watching the directors cracking up and the kids trying not to laugh.
I have the greatest respect for people who dedicate their lives to releasing the world’s endorphins.
and this is why best friends.

maura, hannah, and I are officially hosting an OLYMPICS party this summer, so if you are our friend, you are in luck! because YOU ARE INVITED.
looking forward to a perfect evening of some of my favorite things: the olympic games, good food, great friends, and G&Ts. I am probably overly excited, and I think I’m okay with that.
maura and I had better start training for our gymnastics routines now…
I’ve been thinking for a while that I should do some sort of assessment of the past year of my life, now that I’m home and it’s summer again. Unfortunately, I am both a somewhat lazy and a somewhat emotional individual, so I haven’t really been able to bring myself to do it yet. But look! Now I’m apparently doing a mini version publicly! Perhaps I will get the motivation/ guts to journal soon too.
Here is what happened. I was wasting my life away on FB, looking through the profile pictures of a former friend. I’m not even sure why. But I came across a picture that I took on Memorial Day weekend, almost exactly a year ago. I remember the night very clearly. I had a lot of fun, and I distinctly recall feeling a powerful love toward these friends. Today, as I looked at the picture, I realized that I have a broken relationship with most of the subjects. A couple simply faded away, a couple turned out to be kind of crazy, a couple hurt me very deeply, and a couple have stuck around too.
None of us are the people we were the night I took that picture. I keep thinking about it now, wondering why I’m so different, why I hardly feel connected to the girl in a basement at a party. I’m not as happy as she was, but I am far better, I think. Over the course of one year, I have been very disillusioned. I have learned that though love is very real, it certainly doesn’t equate to happiness. I’ve learned that no matter how hard you try, you won’t always get what you want. I’ve learned that the hardest thing and the right thing really can sometimes be the same. I’ve learned to count on me, not anybody else. I’ve learned that life is really, really hard and awful, but also very good. I’ve learned that kissing is potentially my top favorite activity. I’ve learned that I am too trusting and too loving, but I have also decided I’m okay with that. I’ve learned that nothing’s forever.
Nothing is forever, and even though I may sometimes cry for old friends or long-lost moments, they have left me with a future to smile about. I think if I met that smiley, bouncy, tightly-wound girl I was a year ago, I would like her. She was sweet, but she was also a little dumb and naïve. I’d rather be me. A year later, I no longer know the people in that picture I took. But I know so many new people, who know me so well, who apparently have the power to make me laugh from hundreds of miles away, and who I really and truly love. I know now that they won’t all be forever either, and that’s okay. Life’s a mess! I’ve found it’s most fun if I don’t take it too seriously.
Here’s to the next adventure of a year :)
